Milmar Grand Opening - La Porte, Indiana
This past weekend, many of the Milmar employees gathered for a grand opening of the newly remodeled and built out La Porte, IN headquarters. It was a beautiful day and we had a blast with the team members that made it in. With project managers, supervisors, and crews constructing post-frame buildings in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois, we don't always have a chance to see one another in person in our regular work day, so events to get together are always a joy.
At the ribbon cutting ceremony, we heard from Milmar's VP of Business Administration, Jack McDonnell, about the start of Milmar Buildings in 2008. Jack spoke briefly about the journey of Marvin Miller, the founder and CEO, and his path to starting Milmar Buildings, and ultimately, to where we are today. Reflecting on the ways God has blessed Marvin's work ethic, drive, and purpose to honor God in communities across the regions we build in, and giving thanks for the way that He has allowed the business to grow and thrive.
Jack also thanked the team that made it happen and the journey that's been had, while looking forward to what is ahead.
Founder and CEO, Marvin Miller cut the iconic red ribbon used at grand openings and with that, the new building additions are open and ready for business!
Milmar is a locally owned and operated building company, serving across Indiana and in portions of Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois, with a focus on post frame construction (pole barns, outbuildings, barndominiums, commercial builds, and more). Started over 15 years ago, Milmar has consistently worked to provide high-quality service to the Midwest areas it serves. Marvin Miller has been in the construction business since he was 18 years old. He and the Milmar teams work tirelessly to ensure that every detail of the company's operations are done with excellence and are a reflection of the good work ethic known in the Midwest - - literally winning awards for the buildings they have constructed!
The grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony provided a time for employees and their families to gather and celebrate together.
When Milmar’s headquarters were moved to the La Porte area several years ago, they knew this would be a great place for them to be based. The community and the friendliness to small businesses are things that Milmar so appreciates about the La Porte community.
Jack, who has worked with Milmar Buildings for nearly a decade, states “There is nothing like being able to serve across the regions we build in. We have the opportunity to get to know so many people and be a part of their journey - whether that’s through building for their business or their personal properties.” He continues “Going to work each day at a company that cares about each employee and each client is really something special. This grand opening we’re celebrating with our employees and their families is just a small part of the overall daily goal to continue to give back and build forward.”
While this grand opening event was a private event, primarily for employees of the business, members of the community are welcome to stop by during normal business hours to see the new Milmar Buildings headquarters and meet the office team! And when considering your next building need, talk to Milmar to see how they may be the ideal builder for you!
Here is a throwback/historical picture of what the original building was - a train station in the 1800s! And a more recent throwback too, from when Milmar started construction on the renovation/addition work.
