This single slope pole barn home/barndominium plan (The Tybee) can be found on the Milmar Building Plans page. This house would be great to use as a vacation home or as your every day home with 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a living space that all flows into one open room. The 12′ ceilings that vault up to 17′ at the front give this smaller footprint home a huge, open and airy feel. The garage neatly tucks away the laundry, mechanical and storage/pantry right next to the kitchen.
Some people prefer single slope post frame builds just for the look and design preference.
This particular design features the following floor plan (which can be modified to your needs/preferences as well).
The beauty of this plan is in it’s simplicity and flexibility. Needing to adjust the floor plan/layout to suite your needs and taste? That's an easy adjustment. Wanting to just use this "look" as a starting point for your mono-slope backyard build? We can start here and adjust the size and shell to what you're needing in a garage, storage, or multi-purpose build.
A mono-pitched roof can save time and sometimes money when building your house, barn, garage, or shed. They are also known for efficiently and effectively draining rain and snow. They tend to look modern in style, so if that's a look you are wanting to go for then this can be a great choice. While most commonly used for sheds, lean-tos and run-ins, there are a number of great looking homes, garages, and barns out there that also have the mono-pitched roof style.
Something to keep in mind for the single slope/shed roof style: If the floor plan for your home or building is going to be really large, the single slope can look tacky or gaudy since it ends up being so huge. A more classic style build will usually look much better than a single slope when planning for a larger project (especially for a home or garage).
Milmar has constructed single slope roof builds for quite some time now, and they can be a great option for everything from barndos to three-sided open storage builds, depending on the size and purpose of the build.
If you haven’t checked out our plans page yet, be sure to look that over. Our portfolio and social media pages also showcase many styles of post frame builds. Take a look to find some inspiration!
